Publish & Print is a small, self-publishing company based in Pontypridd, south Wales.   Founded in 2014 we have many years experience in book publishing and offer a friendly, personal service.

About us

If you are a writer and want to get into print
then we can help you achieve this.

Our self-publishing services are amongst the lowest cost anywhere on the market yet we still pride ourselves in producing professional products for our clients.

At the moment we produce paperbacks, e-books (for Amazon kindle) and bespoke book covers.

We also offer low-cost web design, social media help and general advice.

For more information please browse our website or drop us an email.

In 2018 we were named ‘Ones to Watch’ in CV Magazine’s 2018 UK Best in Business.  We were also named as ‘Best Self Publishing Company‘ in Wales by SME News.

Publish & Print was set up by Dave Lewis, a writer based in south Wales. He has self-published over 20 books in his writing career and will probably continue to do so even if he gets a publishing contract with a traditional publishing house simply because of the ease, speed and complete control over the editorial process offered by self-publishing.

In 2007 he set up and organised the first international Welsh Poetry Competition. A competition aimed at encouraging and fostering the wealth of creative writing talent that we know exists in Wales but currently languishes in the doldrums.

Dave has also published two anthologies of winners with nearly 200 writers being featured.

His main reason for setting up Publish & Print was to give other writers a chance of publication in an ever-competitive marketplace.

Like a lot of new authors, Dave experienced the great difficulty a first-time writer has in trying to get either a literary agent or a publishing company to even read the manuscript of an unknown, let alone get it published!

So, rather than wait months and months for the inevitable rejection slip, he decided to self-publish his first book straight away. That first book, ‘Layer Cake’, a collection of poems, sold over 200 copies, locally, simply by word of mouth.

Since then Dave has gone from strength to strength and has now published many books, including three very successful crime thrillers, that have sold in their thousands.

He also runs the Writers of Wales A to Z database which seeks to help all writers with a strong connection to Wales.

In 2020 Dave launched the Poetry Book Awards, an international contest that looks to reward the best poets from small, independent presses.

I desperately want to get a fifteen story memoir book with illustrations, based on my fathers childhood as a boy.
How do I go about getting it into print and for sale, is it that difficult.

Hello I’m working on writing a young adult fiction book that is currently just over 75k words long, is this too long for a book you would publish as I hope to send you the book once I’m happy with it? Also my book revolves around a girl who befriends someone only she can see, the book focuses mostly on whether or not her friend is real but there are also interesting sub plots within the story. Does this sound like a book you would publish?

Thank you in advance for any reply or help 🙂
