Michael James and his wife, Elizabeth, were born and brought up in the upper reaches of the Rhondda Valley in south Wales where, no doubt, their love of mountains was formed. They now live in Cardiff and have two children and four grandchildren. They attend Albany Road Baptist Church and spend time working with and for The Leprosy Mission and the disadvantaged among us and also those with learning disabilities.
This is the true story of how a 75-year-old man, heard ‘The Still, Small Voice’, of God calling him to do something to raise awareness of and funding for two Christian charities he works with, The Leprosy Mission and the Rainbow of Hope.
The undertaking of such a Trek was, for him, a huge personal challenge that gave rise to the comments from those who know him and who said, ‘You must be Crazy!
Taking up the challenge as a step of faith and despite the many obstacles that lay in his path, he finally made it successfully. However, that wasn’t the end of the story, as the book concludes with what has happened since.
This is a moving and inspiring story for all those who face their own, ‘Mountains of Fear’, in their daily lives.
