Notes:
This assumes you have already typed up your book, copyedited the contents, proofread the contents, spellchecked and can supply in Microsoft Word doc. format.  If the content needs copyediting, a lot of proofreading or a lot of formatting/editing then costs will rise accordingly.  Please see here for explanations.

With the paperback option, a proof copy will need to be purchased by you.  The cost will vary depending on the size, number of pages etc.  For example, a poetry collection, which might be: a perfect bound paperback, A5 size and 100 pages would cost approx. £2.50 for the proof copy, plus postage and packaging.  A 400 page novel would be more expensive.

Once your proof copy is approved by you we will then require payment for the publishing service.  Further copies (as many or as few) can then be purchased as and when required, often with discounts for bulk orders.

These prices are just a guide though as a short poetry book would not require as much formatting, proofreading as say a 300 page crime thriller or self-help manual. So please get in touch for a free quote.

There are many companies out there and it can be a bit of a minefield. For an independent view of potential costs – click here.

I’m looking at self publishing a collection of poems with someone and find the costs vary quite a bit. One company even wanted £4000 + Vat to do one book – rip-off!! Your prices seem very competitive so might get back to you when I get my act together.

      Thanks Marisa
We’ve seen one company charge £9,000 for the same!

Yes, prices do vary quite considerably. Hopefully we are one of the cheapest but still very professional.

How does it work with pictures? Does it cost more? I would like to illustrate my poems. Thanks

Yes a little, it depends on how many, if they are cropped etc.

Being closely related to an epsilon semi-moron I don’t understand the package ‘deals. Is that for the production of one perfect copy?

Yes, the package costs are for the service. Once done though you can buy as many or as few as you wish at ‘reasonable’ prices per copy.

    Hi
We would like to produce a collection of 20 to 30 poems with some narrative and as they are all based on works of Art we would like photographic images so that would be say 35 images (colour).
so 60 to 80 sides of material
We are happy to crop format and set out the material in any format you would like and also we would like to design our own cover.
What sizes do you print in(is it only A5
what would it cost to get to the first proof copy and how much would they cost if we took them in batches of 50 / 100 /200
    Thanks Rob

I have a very similar question! looking at 64 pages with 8 – 10 colour pages of art / photography, the rest poems. What’s the cost of 100 copies and then how does that scale? Assuming you don’t do a print on demand service?

    Hi.
Once printed, can you give me an idea of the cost of purchasing additional copies for standard size book, no pics and around 250 pages. Do you have any recommendation as to the amount of printed copies that a new author should initially buy?
    Thanks.
    Paul

Excellent prices. Does this include designing a book cover too? Graphic designers want this much for just a basic cover!

We are a registered charity looking to print a 200 page (400 sides) book. This is predominantly black text on white paper but we will need around 9 pages for colour images and a gloss colour front cover. Please can we have a quote for 250 a5 copies? Do you offer charity discounts?

    Hi there,

I would like to publish a poetry/quote book with images approx 100 pages. I was wondering how much it is per book to order after it has been published?

    Many thanks

Excellent packages and very low cost considering how much effort goes into publishing a book for someone.

    Hello Guys,
yes, your prices look very competitive. I’m probably asking the same question as the others, however, you responded to them individually so I need to ask again.
I have a Young Adults book I’m finishing, approximately about 50-100 pages long. After the initial package deal, how much would it cost me for further 50-100 copies?

    Thanking you in advance.

I would like to publish a book to raise money for charity. It is a poetry compilation and would have illustrations – considering a paperback that could be sold on amazon or at local charity events. How much would it cost and is there a difference depending upon the number of pages.

I would need shipping some to Spain.

    Hello.

I have a collection of poems I would like to be published into a pamphlet. 25 -30 pages.
Standard black and white. Colour printed cover.
Please could you quote me a rough estimate at your earliest convenience.
Follow up with a reprint of around 100-200 copies.

    Many thanks,

    John Buxton.
